Arthur in New York New York
The first book in the series (and unfortunately the only translated into Italian ) is an FBI agent, Hal, who is tormented by nightmares of his last case ended with the death of a child, after which she decided to drown in alcohol. Meanwhile the young Arthur, with his aunt-stepmother Emily, is a strange cup warm to the touch and that takes care of every wound. Still, in a asylum in England, the story of three continuing until it joins.
Hal, by chance, he will end his England where he will meet Mr. Taliesin that will lead to a property where it says there was the old Camelot. Just that old ruin was recently inherited by Arthur who is now on the run with his aunt because of Saladin's men are trying to recover all costs of the cup.
The story is fascinating.
A Grail rationally explained.
I can not speak of the Grail story otherwise you anticipate too much, but let me tell you that this is the first book that depicts a story from his / find birth to King Arthur. Rationally (with the rules of fantasy) the Grail takes far more disturbing atmosphere of Christian couples (but also passes through the hands of Christ) and is therefore an object from the sky at the time of the Babylonians and able to heal and give the 'immortality.
loving everybody.
The characters are wonderful. Hal, who in reality is none other than Galahad reincarnated, Hal is all of us. A man completely lost and disillusioned, full of bitterness and looking for something that can not be defined.
Even Arthur, a reincarnation of King Arthur, is a child in the round, with the character of a child, but also the spark of gravity that probably belonged to a king. Merlin (aka Taliesin) is an old wizard who tries to do the right thing, but he, like Saladin, is lured by the power of the Grail. There are no characters
dishes are all very much alive, everyone does what they can and it is not always the right thing because there are no correct answers.
Saladin is a bad par excellence. And this does not mean it's bad without a typical thickness, indeed, is probably a character that can not be cruel to hate as it is, because he has reason, you have the torments and maybe you can not approve, but you can at least partially understand.
Strangely, since I am a lover of Galahad, my favorite character is Hal (even if it comes close), but Emily.
Emily Blessing is the aunt of Arthur and woman who must deal with the child and therefore is forced to leave his brilliant career as a research chemist. Maybe it's because as a scientist I feel akin to her, but I understand perfectly. And I understand her very human need to rationalize and want to look at all costs ugly. I love it.
And the only flaw.
The only flaw, in my opinion, has the book being an introduction. The book itself is a good story but you can see perfectly well that it was written with the intention of having to read a follow-up which can not be done in English if not buying it from amazon.
In any case, do a very good vote.
